Mother's Day Weekend

This is really a picture from Friday night, Stella as a flapper. On Saturday, I left the house before Stella woke up and got home after she went to sleep; other than a little cuddle after her late night diaper change I didn't see her at all because I was at the Maryland Film Festival; it was a real treat to spend 2 full days out of the house and take some time off from being a mama full time. I volunteered in the morning and watched movies all afternoon. While I was gone on Saturday, Stella and Daddy had a nice visit from Grandmom Tina and her friend Carol.

A Day With Luke

Stella and I went to Luke's house while Mona went with Tyler on a field trip. Luke has changed so much since I nannied for him last summer; he is talking up a storm. We played in the backyard, went on a 'big walk' around the neighborhood (I sure do miss the foot path and tot lots of Thunder Hill!) -- we stopped at two of the tot lots, saw the mama wood duck and her 8 ducklings (what a treat!) at the pond, and I got some great exercise pushing the double stroller up some big hills. Stella tried out swinging which is very popular with cousin Sofia; not so popular with Stella!

So Sweet

I try not to get attached to outfits because Stella outgrows them so quickly, but she is especially adorable in this get-up. I also just rediscovered the 'spotlight' feature in Kodak editing; I find that it is an excellent way to hide background clutter!

First Ride in the Double Stroller

Thank goodness we went out for this walk on Monday morning because we were trapped inside for the rest of the week! Stella seemed very happy in her little spot facing me and Holly talked and talked the whole walk. The little park that we go to has a short woodsy walk and it was a lovely day for enjoying the dogwoods!
