Big Bear

I had so much fun watching this little scene today. Not everything got caught by the camera; Stella started by picking up big bear and giving him a hug, then she walked over to her Bumbo chair and put bear down on it, then a few seconds later picked him up again and they walked back into the living room. Stella put big bear down and reclined on the couch pillow she had pulled onto the floor, a few seconds later she got up and put big bear on the pillow for his turn. It was both adorable and fascinating to watch the whole scene unfold.

On another note, Papaw arrived this evening from Louisville, KY after a long drive. It only took a few minutes for Stella to warm up to him (she hasn't seen him since October) and soon they were playing away and enjoying each other's company. No doubt Papaw will feature in a post this weekend!

Fever Free

Stella had a fairly restful night and woke up fever free and stayed that way; she was a little grumpy, but maybe she was just missing Holly who has not been around yesterday and today due to the fever. Daddy read one of her favorite books with her before bed; she loves her lift the flap books and has spent a lot of time today looking at this one!

Blah

There's no picture today, I feel bad snapping photos of a miserable baby. Stella developed a fever overnight which peaked today at 103 F. She was grumpy and feverish all day long. We visited to pediatrician to rule out ear infection, strep throat, etc. Pedi says she has some sort of virus. Perhaps she is trying to compete with cousin Sofia who is stuck at home in Rome with Chicken Pox, unable to travel for her long anticipated trip to the States :(. Trip postponed to August, with a short trip by Allison in May so that the family does not get too snarky.

Little Reader

Stella has been able to plop herself into her Bumbo for a long time and now that is next to her books, she often sits down with a book to read :) Now she is having trouble getting out because she is getting too big so I think she will need a new chair or bean bag soon for reading...perhaps her own little recliner to match ours.

Mother's Day Weekend

This is how I left them in the morning on my way back to the film festival! My card is on the table behind them...it was hilarious on it's own (a 50's style photo with Mom looking down at 2 kids thinking, 'Who are these children and why are they calling me Mommy?), Sean made it even funnier by pasting pictures of our kitties' faces over the original kid faces and adding a picture of Stella to the scene. It made me laugh very hard! I also got a beautiful, huge geranium.
