We went to a wedding on Saturday at a beautiful farm north of Fredrick. Stella enjoyed lots of outside time. I think Sean and I burned off any calories eaten (and drunk) chasing her around as she explored the expansive lawns.
Look how long those bangs are. This was a home job, a little short perhaps but hair grows and now it won't be hanging in her face all the time! I love the picture of her itching her nose post haircut...who doesn't get that itchy nose from little bits of hair?
We had Holly's brother Teo with us a few days this week and enjoyed having another band member for music time. Stella is sitting down for longer periods of time (eg. 3 -5 minutes) during music time these days and we had a nice little circle time with songs and stories.
Here is Stella at the end of a long, hot day. Just finishing dinner and about to head off to the bath and then bed. I was on my way to pick up canning supplies for a hopefully successful strawberry harvest and processing this coming weekend. For those who haven't heard it, Stella's 'bye' is dripping with a southern accent :)
Stella and I had a day to ourselves and I decided that we would take a trip to the DC Zoo. Sean met us there. I think that mostly Sean and I enjoyed the animals more than Stella noticed them. A highlight was the young Asian elephant playing with a ball in a pool with it's trunk and then spraying him or herself off -- Stella was very interested in that! We were sure to get into the bird house too since she has shown an interest in birds pointing outside when she hears them chirping and saying 'bir'.
